Who can use Emetli

Emetli is for adults who are the parent or legal guardian of the children they add. When you create an account you confirm that you are. Children don't get accounts and don't use this website; their device is linked with a one-time code that you type into ReadFirst.

Your account

• Use your own email address and keep your password to yourself. An account is for one person.
• Don't type your Emetli password into a kid's device. Linking a device never needs it.
• If you think someone else has been in your account, change your password. That signs out every other browser and app. Then write to us.
• Emetli doesn't send email yet, so a forgotten password is reset by writing to support from the address you signed up with.

What the service does, and what it doesn't

You set rules for each kid (blocking, the ratio of reading to screen time, topics and limits) and see how much they read and how much screen time they earned and used. ReadFirst on the kid's device applies the rules.

• Changes are not instant. A new rule, bonus minutes or a reset reaches a device the next time ReadFirst is opened on it, and the numbers you see are as recent as the device's last update.
• Blocking relies on Apple's Screen Time on the device. On some setups it can be switched off in the device's settings, and Emetli can only tell you about that after the device reports it.
• Nothing you do here unblocks or loosens a device directly. Unlinking a device, removing a kid or deleting your account leaves ReadFirst on the device with the rules it last received.
• Emetli is a tool for a family agreement about reading and screen time. It is not a safety or monitoring product and does not replace supervision.

Your family's data

The data about your kids is yours to decide about. You can remove a kid or delete your account whenever you want, and deletion is permanent. What is stored, what is not, and who can see it is described in the privacy notice.

Fair use

• Only add kids you are the parent or legal guardian of, and only link devices those kids use.
• Don't try to get into other families' data, guess link codes, or get around the limits on sign-in attempts.
• Don't overload the site or use its interfaces for anything other than running your own family's account.

Suspension

An account that breaks these rules can be suspended. While suspended you can't view or change your family's settings, but you can still sign in, write to support, remove a kid and delete your account. Your kids' devices keep working with their current rules and keep recording reading, so nothing is lost if the suspension is lifted.

What we can't promise

We work to keep Emetli running and correct, but it is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it is always available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on it, for example screen time that was used while blocking wasn't working.
